Main Responsibilities

As a DPA/QHSE Engineer (Shipping), you will be responsible for supporting vessels and projects with DPA/QHSE-related topics, challenging projects on QHSE matters, initiating improvements, and defining risk-reducing measures. You will align with clients and subcontractors to implement the safest way of working for the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Understanding of maritime-related legislation and requirements (ISM, ISPS, MLC, etc.).
  • Affinity with the maritime and offshore industry.
  • Good knowledge of the English language (verbally and in writing).
  • Document control system knowledge and business process understanding.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Pro-active coordinator with the ability to set priorities.
  • Social team player with a hands-on attitude.
  • Project QA experience (preferably obtained in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry).
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to initiate and lead RCA investigations.
  • Ability to provide practical advice and hands-on solutions.
  • Good interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to successfully work in an internationally composed organization.
Requirements

We require:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISM, ISPS, and MLC standards.
  • Affinity with the maritime industry.
  • Good knowledge of the English language (verbally and in writing).
  • Project QHSE experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to initiate and lead RCA investigations.
  • HSE training (e.g., HVK or NEBOSH equivalent).
  • ISO 9001/ISO 45001/ISO 14001 Lead Auditor experience of implementing unsafe Act Auditing Schemes (STOP, ASA, OOG, etc.).
  • Experience of implementing Behavior/Culture-Based Safety Management schemes.
  • Familiar with good safe working practices with respect to lifting and hoisting equipment, slinging of loads, working at height, confined space entries, stored energy, PPE, COSHH, etc.
