Senior Model Validation Lead

As a key member of our Model Validation team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our credit risk models. Your expertise in model validation and governance will be instrumental in helping us meet regulatory requirements and maintain a high level of model quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of validators to perform high-quality validations of our AIRB credit risk models.
  • Develop and maintain clear and concise validation reports, and communicate findings to model developers and senior management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure models meet regulatory requirements.
  • Support regulatory engagements and onsite inspections from ECB/DNB.
  • Lead model governance activities, including maintenance of the Model Inventory (MI) and supporting timely submissions to the Model Risk Committee (MRC).
  • Manage end-to-end validation projects, including project planning and alignment with stakeholders.
  • Guide junior and mid-level validators to ensure high-quality work and adherence to validation procedures.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in model validation, with at least 2 years of experience in leading model development or model validation teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and standards for AIRB models (CRD IV/CRR, ECB/EBA guidelines).
  • Experience with on-site inspections and communication with regulatory authorities (DNB/ECB).
  • Project lead experience in model development or model validation.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and reporting skills in English.
  • Strong analytical skills and affinity for data.
