About the Role

As a Space Design Specialist at Yacht Engineering, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing cutting-edge solar arrays that power the missions of tomorrow. With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, our team strives to achieve excellence in all aspects of space product design.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace) with a strong curriculum emphasis on design engineering activities, preferably using CATIA. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a design engineer in the space sector is required, along with proficiency in preparing and defining 2D drawings for manufacturing.

This role involves close collaboration with Lead and Systems Engineers, expert mechanical and thermal engineering teams, the Materials & Process department, and the experienced Assembly & Integration Team. As a Space Design Specialist, you will be responsible for creating designs via CAD for space products, tailored to the unique requirements of each mission.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design via CAD (CATIA V5) Airbus Netherlands B.V. space products, particularly those related to our Solar Arrays product, from preliminary design to final production drawings.
  • Develop CATIA CAD 3D models and detailed 2D drawings used during the production phase.
  • Define and implement properly 2D drawings definition (tolerances, surface treatments, etc.).
  • Define production drawings and interact with procurement office to assess overall manufacturability.
  • Design structure components and assemblies optimized for weight, cost, performance, production/assembly requirements while ensuring highest safety using appropriate Design tools.

About You

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (GMail, Docs, Sheets, Slides) is required. Conversational Dutch is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience using CATIA-V5 in the last 5 years.
