Value Optimization Specialist

About the Role:

The Value Engineer will be part of the Value Management team, working closely with project and program teams to identify and mitigate cost risks. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive cost savings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct deep dives into technical topics to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Support development teams in managing value and cost in their development roadmaps
  • Apply value and cost optimization methods in product design and other phases of the product lifecycle
  • Lead value engineering activities for key projects, from identification to business case approval
  • Initiate value engineering workshops and activities, collaborating with project teams, technical experts, procurement, and suppliers
  • Maintain a network of internal and external partners
  • Support the product cost roadmap with the Cost Architect

Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in product architecture, product design, or industrialization
  • Experience in product design, cost structure analysis, product cost optimization, cost driver analysis, and target costing
  • Familiarity with value engineering methods and techniques or willingness to learn
  • Affinity with costs is a must
