Research Opportunities

You will investigate the filtration behavior of flexible particles and components, such as gel particles, droplets, and cells. Your research will focus on designing membrane separation processes based on your findings.

About the Project

The deformability of these particles under actual filtration conditions is far from understood, and likely influenced by bulk and surface characteristics. You will employ high-quality microfluidics for experimental observations, model transport characteristics, and design membrane processes based on these.

Working Environment

The work is performed within the stimulating and friendly department of Membrane Science and Technology at the University of Twente. Our department is well-known and recognized for excellent research and valorization.

Your Profile
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated researcher.
  • A master's degree in (chemical) engineering, physics, physical chemistry, or a related area.
  • Creative mindset and excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Good team spirit and ability to work in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Affinity for experimental research.
  • Not resided in the Netherlands for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
Our Offer
  • A full-time position for four years with a qualifier in the first year.
  • Your salary and associated conditions are in accordance with the collective labor agreement for Dutch universities.
  • A gross monthly salary ranging from € 2770,- to € 3539,- depending on your experience.
  • Excellent benefits including a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, and a solid pension scheme.
  • A minimum of 232 leave hours in case of full-time employment.
  • Free access to sports facilities on campus.

Location

The job is located at the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands.

We estimate the annual salary to be around € 53,000,- to € 71,000,- depending on your experience.
