Join Our Team as a Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our standardization team at Damen Shipyards. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing standardized solutions for our range of ships.

About the Role

The main activities of the standardization team include:

  • Mechanical standardization and development projects
  • Executing all phases of engineering according to the V-model
  • Assessing and analyzing input from suppliers, services, detailed engineering, and suppliers
  • Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Monitoring quality and organizing interface and system integration with other disciplines and co-makers
  • Performing basic calculations related to Class, load/power, strength, and flow in the mechanical engineering field
  • Outsourcing work to our 3D Engineering partners
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A quality consciousness and a practical approach
  • An easy-going personality, pro-active, creative, showing ownership, and result-driven
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in the field of Mechanical Engineering
  • Working experience in Mechanical Engineering in the maritime sector
  • Familiarity with the Rules and Regulations and the ability to interpret and translate them for our ship-type portfolio
  • An interest in innovation and an open mindset to new technologies
  • English is a must, Dutch is a plus
