Veterinarian Internship Opportunity at University Clinic for Equine Health

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced veterinarian to join our team as an intern at the University Clinic for Equine Health. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated specialists, residents, and students to deliver high-quality veterinary care for horses and other equids.
Responsibilities- Assist in the daily operations of the university clinic, including patient rounds, consults, and laboratory sample logistics.
- Perform common tasks such as inserting IV catheters, tubing, and administering medication.
- Supervise master students in their clinical skills and clinical education.
- Rotate through Internal Medicine and Surgery and work evening and night shifts.
- Participate in anaesthesia on-call duties, following in-house training.
- Must be a veterinarian with an interest in and experience with horses.
- Highly motivated to further develop yourself in the field of equine medicine.
- Practical experience is an advantage, but not a strict requirement.
- Proactive, positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- A job for 38-40 hours a week for a period of 18 months.
- A gross monthly salary of €3,345 in the case of full-time employment (salary scale 10 under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU)).
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus.
- A pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible terms of employment based on the CAO NU.
