Mechanic Propulsion Specialist

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic Propulsion Specialist to join our Propulsion Workshop team at Wärtsilä.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overhaul, repair, assembly, and upgrade of various marine propulsion systems, including Controllable Pitch Propellers, Tunnel and Steerable Thrusters, and Oil Supply Units.
Our ideal candidate will have technical knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly procedures, as well as the ability to read and understand technical assembly drawings and assembly instructions.
Additionally, you will be expected to work according to order/project records and checklists, ensuring that all work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble, inspect, assemble, and test complete propulsion installations and components.
- Identify and discuss discrepancies and non-conformities with the workshop foreman.
- Work according to order/project records and checklists.
- Ensure that all work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and tidy workshop, particularly your own working area.
Requirements
- Technical knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly procedures.
- Ability to read and understand technical assembly drawings and assembly instructions.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and practices.
- Dutch and English written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to take part in overtime and weekend shifts if needed.
