Role Overview

Wärtsilä is a world leader in marine technology, driving the industry's transformation towards a decarbonized and sustainable future. As a Mechanic Propulsion Specialist, you will be responsible for the overhaul, repair, assembly, and upgrade of all types of marine propulsion systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work on disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of complete propulsion installations and components.
  • Identify and discuss discrepancies and non-conformities with the workshop foreman.
  • Execute work according to order/project records and checklists.
  • Ensure work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and procedures.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and tidy workshop, particularly your own working area.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand technical assembly drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and practices.
  • Dutch and English written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to take part in overtime and weekend shifts if needed.
