Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft. The successful candidate will be working on a project focused on turbulent distortion analysis of a rotor interacting with a lifting surface.

Research Objectives

The main objective of this project is to develop a numerical high-fidelity analysis of the distorted field created by the interaction of a rotor with a lifting surface. The study will focus on the definition of the most interesting configuration with no flow for applications in VTOL, with special emphasis on transition and maneuvering configurations.

Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics, with a strong background in aerodynamics and turbulence.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong interest in performing experiments.
  • A solid knowledge of signal processing and mathematical theories.
  • Advanced programming skills are advantageous for this position.
What We Offer

As a PhD candidate at TU Delft, you will be part of a dynamic and international research community. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced researchers and to contribute to the development of new knowledge in the field of aerodynamics and turbulence.

Conditions of Employment

The PhD position is available for a period of 4 years, with a possibility of extension. The salary will be in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, increasing from € 2872 per month in the first year to € 3670 in the fourth year.
