We are seeking a highly skilled Global Production Crop Strategist to join our team at Syngenta Seeds, one of the world's largest developers and producers of seed for farmers, commercial growers, retailers, and small seed companies.

About the Job

The Global Production Crop Strategist will be responsible for overseeing the global supply of assigned vegetable seed crops to customers worldwide through the development and execution of the seeds production and crop placement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy for assigned crop families.
  • Lead global sourcing plan implementation with key stakeholders.
  • Co-create biannual crop release plans for Vegetable Leadership Team approval.
  • Oversee variety promotion decisions, including NPI and IP security.
  • Manage new product transitions to production with R&D and FPR.
  • Lead integration of new product lines and participate in M&A activities.
  • Support contract development and negotiate yield targets with regional teams.
  • Coordinate with MoM and regional managers on vendor plan execution.
  • Ensure seed stock availability and data management for production plans.
  • Establish agronomic data collection needs and regional harmonization.
  • Lead data-driven production analysis and improvement initiatives.
  • Implement KPI systems for performance evaluation and improvement.
  • Develop and share IP security measures aligned with crop strategy.
  • Provide technical training and best practices to regional teams.
  • Support new production area development and technology implementation.
  • Review and maintain regional variety production recipes in global tools.
  • Collaborate on exploring and establishing new production areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture or business required.
  • Functional knowledge of seed production operations preferred.
  • Experience in planning and agriculture production processes preferred.
  • Strong IT and project management skills and experience.
  • Fluent in English and other languages appreciated.
  • Financial knowledge and data analytics.
  • Global mindset and experience working in a multi-cultural international environment.
  • Supply chain experience in global seed movement preferred.
  • Independent and entrepreneurial mindset, ability to set a clear vision, end-to-end thinker, and understand the impact of a decision on ultimate customer satisfaction.

Location

The position is based in Sarrians, and regular business travel up to 30% is required both regionally and internationally.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is approximately €80,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
