**About the Role**

As a Distributed Data Systems Engineer at Coolblue, you will play a crucial part in designing and building our data processing platforms. These platforms take raw data and turn it into valuable insights that enable us to make informed business decisions.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design and implement efficient data pipelines and cloud-based data systems
  • Ensure the operational security and compliance of our data processing systems
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, making improvements as needed to maintain high standards
  • Engage in knowledge-sharing activities such as code reviews, presentations, training sessions, and coaching
  • Maintain proactive communication with cross-functional teams and explore new ways to leverage data for business benefit

**Requirements**

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a data engineer or in a related role
  • Solid understanding of Cloud best practices and ability to apply them on Google Cloud and/or AWS
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, with Python being a plus
  • Experience working with data processing platforms like Kafka, Airflow, Dataproc, or similar
  • Track record in continuous integration, logging, and monitoring, with experience using Datadog being a bonus
  • Ability to coach and help others enhance their technical skills
