Van Hessen is a leading global player in the harvesting, processing and distribution of natural casings, meat products and raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Sustainability Manager at our Netherlands Head Office, contributing to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across Van Hessen's global operations. This role involves collaborating with various departments and local teams to facilitate ESG reporting and drive progress towards the organization's sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as a key user, administrator and resource within the organization's ESG data management system, facilitating regular reporting and data consolidation.
2. Work across regions with local management and finance personnel to identify and address data gaps, enhancing data scope and quality, and carbon accounting in line with reporting requirements.
3. Take an active role in identifying, prioritizing and coordinating sustainability and decarbonization projects.
4. Generate performance and progress reports for environmental metrics.
5. Develop and disseminate communication materials to raise awareness of sustainability program objectives across the group.
6. Help monitor relevant regulations and ensure compliance with ESG reporting requirements.
7. Assist in coordinating stakeholder engagement to increase the quality of indirect emission calculations and potential collaborations.
8. Collaborate across departments and regional management teams to facilitate the development of sustainability and decarbonization action plans.

About You

This opportunity is suitable for recent university graduates or up to 1-2 years of professional experience with a background in finance, business administration, sustainable development, sustainable business or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess both Dutch and English language skills at a professional level.

• Fluent in English and Dutch.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
• Desire to understand ESG frameworks, standards and reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with corporate sustainability, ESG reporting or a related field is advantageous.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Driven, energetic and positive-minded, with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience in Microsoft Suite and data visualization systems is desirable.
