About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Sustainability Manager based in our Netherlands Head Office.

Within the sustainability team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across Van Hessen's worldwide operations.

You will collaborate with various departments and local teams to facilitate ESG reporting and drive progress towards the organization's sustainability objectives and goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key user, administrator, and resource within the organization's ESG data management system.
• Work across regions with local management and finance personnel to identify and address data gaps.
• Take an active role in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating sustainability/decarbonization projects.
• Generate performance and progress reports for environmental metrics.
• Develop and disseminate communication materials to raise awareness of sustainability program objectives.
• Help monitor relevant regulations and ensure compliance with ESG reporting requirements.
• Assist in the coordination of stakeholder engagement to increase the quality of indirect emission calculation and potential collaborations.
• Collaborate across departments and regional management teams to facilitate the development of sustainability/decarbonization action plans.

About You

This opportunity is suitable for a recent university graduate or up to 1-2 years PQE with a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business administration, sustainable development, sustainable business, or another related field.

You will possess both Dutch and English language skills at a professional level.

• Fluent in English and Dutch (essential)
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
• Desire to understand ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, or related field (advantageous)
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Driven, energetic, and positive-minded, with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and in PowerBi or other data visualization systems.
