Vroon is a family-originated business established in 1890 in the Netherlands. Iver Ships, a daughter company of Vroon, has operated a fleet of product and high-heat tankers since the early 1990s. We handle commercial, operational, and technical management activities related to the seaborne transportation of asphalt/bitumen, liquid pitch cargoes, clean and dirty products, and easy chemicals (IMO-2).

Our Chartering Team

The Chartering team is responsible for the Iver Ships owned and commercial managed tonnage with a focus on worldwide trading. The team is expected to handle all aspects of vessel trading.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate and fix Time charters and/or spot cargoes;
• Prepare voyage calculations;
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, external brokers, charterers, suppliers/receivers, third parties, etc.;
• Market and charter vessels to clients;
• Build relationships with new and existing clients;
• Market intelligence and reporting;
• Monitor market developments;
• Attend meetings, exhibitions, and seminars to promote the Iver Ships fleet;
• Develop new business.

Requirements

• A Bachelor/Master degree/level or equivalent experience in a related field;
• A minimum of 1 year experience, either in a commercial role or in the shipping industry;
• Experience in operating or chartering tankers is an advantage;
• Good English language skills (written and verbally);
• Dutch language skills at conversational level (is a plus);
• Strong negotiation skills;
• The ability to work under pressure and is able to cope with deadlines;
• Reporting and presentation skills;
• A flexible approach to working hours when required;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point;
• Excellent communication skills and is quality driven;
• The willingness and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
• The willingness to travel worldwide to see (potential) clients (max 6 times per year);
• Strong team player skills.
