Opportunity Overview

In the heart of Amsterdam, our upscale seafood restaurant is seeking a skilled Executive Seafood Chef to lead our kitchen team. As an essential member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating exquisite shellfish and seafood dishes that showcase the freshest ingredients and your exceptional cooking skills.

About the Role:

  • We are offering a competitive hourly rate between 24 and 28 euros, excluding taxes, plus a share in tips (approximately 5 euros per hour extra in cash).
  • This is a full-time or part-time opportunity, allowing you to balance your work-life schedule.
  • As we continue to grow and expand with new locations, there are opportunities for advancement to sous-chef on payroll.

Responsibilities:

  • Creatively prepare and present the most exquisite shellfish and seafood dishes to meet the highest quality standards.
  • Expertly fillet, prepare, and cook fish to perfection while maintaining efficient kitchen operations.
  • Assist with preparations (mise en place) and ensure a smooth service experience for our guests.
  • Run your section during service, utilizing your sharp focus and concentration to deliver exceptional results.
  • Collaborate with your colleagues to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment after each service.

Your Background:

  • You should be registered with the Chamber of Commerce, possess a valid VAT number, and be able to issue professional invoices on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role is required.
  • You must be available to work 20 to 40 hours per week and willing to work on weekdays and weekends.
  • Familiarity with hygiene and food safety regulations (HACCP) is essential.
  • Knowledge of seafood and passion for the industry are highly valued.
