Mission of the Role:
Contribute to the realization of ASML's product strategy by leveraging expertise in component technology and market trends.
Identify and assess the most suitable off-the-shelf component solutions available for ASML.
Manage the Life Cycle of ASML products through active project participation and current component data.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a design component engineer, your primary focus will be on the strategic selection, documentation, and upkeep of electronic catalog components within the ASML design framework. Early engagement and close collaboration with design teams are vital for the seamless introduction of new materials. In this capacity, you will serve as the crucial link between designers, manufacturers, supply chain engineers, and procurement professionals, ensuring a balance between technology, quality, cost, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain expertise within the designated product category. Establish the component roadmap for the assigned product category. Facilitate interaction between design initiatives and the component engineering team. Assist designers in making optimal component selections. Select, qualify, and integrate new components into the ASML database. Support and guide the development of customized derivatives of catalog products. Ensure the integrity of component data within the database. Lead root cause analysis and improvement initiatives in the event of component failures.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.

Over 5 years of experience in electronics design. Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders in a complex technical environment. Networking and commercial connections within the component industry are advantageous. Specialized knowledge in areas such as active & passive board components, sensors & actuators, connectivity, electromechanics, or computer systems is beneficial. Familiarity with industry regulations (CE including RoHS/REACH, UL, IEC) is a plus.

Additional Information

Within the Development & Engineering (D&E) sector, the Electronic Development (EDEV) cluster is responsible for defining, realizing, and qualifying electronic functions and modules. Within EDEV, our Component Engineering group is tasked with the strategy, qualification, and Life-Cycle Management of electronic off-the-shelf components and assemblies. The group comprises a Component Engineering team and an End-of-Life (EOL) management team.
The component engineer will report to the Team Lead of Component Engineering.
