Component Engineer for Electronic Design in Sensors

Overview of the Position

As a Component Engineer specializing in electronic design, your primary responsibility will be the strategic selection, registration, and ongoing management of electronic catalog components within the ASML design framework. This role necessitates early engagement and close collaboration with design teams to ensure a seamless and effective introduction of new materials. You will serve as a crucial link among designers, manufacturers, supply chain engineers, and procurement officers, providing essential guidance while balancing technology, quality, cost, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expertise within the designated product category.
  • Establish the component roadmap for the assigned product category.
  • Facilitate interaction between design projects and the component engineering team.
  • Assist designers in making optimal component selections.
  • Oversee the selection, qualification, and integration of new components into the ASML database.
  • Guide the development of customized derivatives of catalog products.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of component data within the database.
  • Lead root cause analysis and improvement initiatives in response to component failures.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or equivalent experience is required.

  • Over 5 years of experience in a technology design environment.
  • Specific expertise in sensors and actuators.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations (CE including RoHS/REACH, UL, IEC, NFPA) is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders in a complex technical landscape.
  • Established network and commercial contacts within the component industry are a plus.
