About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Superintendent to join our team at Rocketsourcers B.V. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet, including the maintenance and dry-docking of vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure day-to-day operations are performed in a safe, professional, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage client expectations and build strong relationships with customers.
  • Coordinate and execute daily running maintenance within budget on board vessels.
  • Monitor and follow up on the planned maintenance system.
  • Generate and approve purchase orders and requisitions, and receive and inspect goods delivered.
  • Supervise, coach, and instruct Chief Engineers as required to ensure smooth and professional on-board technical management.
  • Undertake vessel inspections and report on the status of vessels to the Regional Marine Manager and Contract Manager.
  • Investigate and analyze root causes of defects and take timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Arrange surveys with flag state and classification authorities and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure full compliance of vessel certifications with flag state and class requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute dry dockings in line with quality standards, agreed budgets, and time lines.
  • Supervise and evaluate activities and performance of third-party contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure damages are surveyed and repaired in close consultation with classification societies and the insurance department.
  • Optimize and implement technical (new build) standards.
  • Maintain daily communication with assigned vessels.

About You

  • Experience in project management.
  • A strong communicator (verbal and written).
  • Qualifications in mechanical/maritime engineering or naval architecture.
  • Minimum 3-5 years as a Technical Superintendent or equivalent.
  • Harbour towage and offshore experience.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach, maintaining high standards and good work ethics.
  • High level of organizational and planning skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes that are accurate, complete, and timely.

The successful applicant will be required to satisfy a company pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol and site inductions.
