Are you a data engineer with a passion for designing and building data processing platforms? Do you enjoy working with the latest technology in a multi-cloud setup? We're looking for a talented Kafka Platform Engineer to join our team at Coolblue

About the Role

  • Create robust and efficient data pipelines and cloud-based data systems that transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Ensure that our data processing systems are operational, secure, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Continuously monitor the performance and reliability of our data processing systems, making necessary improvements to maintain high standards.
  • Engage in knowledge-sharing activities, including code reviews, presentations, training sessions, and coaching, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Demonstrate proactive communication, maintaining continuous collaboration with cross-functional teams, and exploring fresh ways to leverage data for the benefit of the business.
  • Advocate for and promote the principles of data agility, championing a dynamic and adaptable approach within the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a data engineer or in a related role.
  • Strong grasp of Cloud best practices and ability to put them into action on Google Cloud and/or AWS platforms.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language and willingness to use Python.
  • Experience with data processing platforms like Kafka, Airflow, Dataproc, or Dataflow.
  • Track record with continuous integration, logging, and monitoring, with experience with Datadog a plus.
  • Experience in helping others enhance their craftsmanship and tech skills.
