At ASM Pacific Technology, we're seeking an exceptional Advanced Technical Support Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, as you'll be responsible for providing high-level support for complex issues related to our Laser Dicing and Grooving installed base.

About the Job

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, you'll work closely with various stakeholders, including System- & Software-Engineering, R&D teams, and service colleagues in the field. Your primary goal will be to analyze issues, advise on solutions, and ensure seamless integration of new software releases.

Responsibilities
  • Determine which complex issues are handled by the 3rd line Support team and which require expert input from System Engineering and Software Development.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of issues, provide guidance to service engineers on finding solutions, and resolve problems directly when possible.
  • Participate in regional service VCs with 1st line and 2nd line support teams to stay connected with field activities.
  • Introduce new software releases to service colleagues in the field, explaining new features and changes.
  • Collaborate with quality and CCB meeting participants to ensure smooth implementation of new functionality.
  • Review and agree on user interfaces for new functionality modules.
  • Develop verification tests, analyze experimental results, and review instructions and user manuals.
  • Create instructions and manuals for new functionality developed by System Engineering and Software Engineering.
  • Prepare Service Bulletins for new modules.
  • Oversee deployment of new functionality, including Pre-FAT tests, installation preparation, and execution at launching customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics (or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of experience in customer service, preferably in the semiconductor equipment industry.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Decision-making skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Broad knowledge of performance metrics.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  • Will to travel several times a year to U.S., Asia, and Europe.
