Salary

The estimated salary for this position ranges from €3500 to €5500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

As a Shipbuilding Systems Integration Specialist at Damen Naval, you will support technical activities related to the design, installation, verification, maintenance, and refits of Combat Systems for naval vessels. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing and revising basic and detailed Combat Systems packages for existing and/or new products based on relevant information and specifications
  • Implementing improvements for the basic and/or detailed Combat Systems packages and informing, discussing with, and advising team lead, technical lead, technical specialists, and relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding the execution and synchronization of project activities related to all deliverables and obligations of subcontractors
  • Supporting subcontractors' and suppliers' contribution to projects during preparation and execution
  • Assisting the technical subcontract manager in defining, establishing, and validating functional and physical interfaces
  • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications
  • Supporting the Proposal Department and the engineering and production group by delivering quality engineering products
  • Participating in contractual milestones, tests, and trials, such as FAT, HAT, and SAT as an accepting party
  • Assisting the warranty authority on all warranty issues identified
  • Regularly visiting the Vlissingen office

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in engineering and/or subcontract management related to complex (combat) systems, acquired in the shipbuilding or a related industry
  • Experience in communicating with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors' staff, and project managers in shipbuilding or a related industry
  • Understanding of various engineering concepts (V-model) and practices
  • Experience working in complex project environments
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Technical domain
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language (written and verbal)
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel abroad from time to time, when and as required to support project activities and objectives
  • Excellent references and antecedents, as pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required, candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects
