Postdoctoral Researcher in Osteoarthritis Modeling

Osteoarthritis is a debilitating joint disease affecting millions of people worldwide. The LoaD project aims to advance our understanding of how joint loading affects osteoarthritis in individual patients. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will contribute to this project by advancing finite element models of cartilage mechanics, development, and degeneration. You will work closely with researchers from various biomedical areas to integrate results and provide personalized activity strategies for osteoarthritis patients.
Responsibilities- Develop and refine finite element models of cartilage mechanics, incorporating experimental data and literature research.
- Collaborate with researchers from various biomedical areas to integrate results and provide model-based insights.
- Communicate with researchers to understand their questions and needs, and provide support with model-based analyses.
- Identify opportunities to employ finite element models to bridge gaps between studies and integrate results.
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a comparable domain, with expertise in finite element modeling.
- Ability to conduct high-quality academic research, reflected in demonstrable outputs.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in collaborating with researchers from various biomedical fields.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects to completion on schedule.
