The successful candidate will be responsible for designing a model-based controller to optimize light modulation for maximizing biomass production while minimizing energy resource utilization.
Research ProjectThe DREAM project is a PATHFINDER research initiative that aims to introduce disruptive technologies for measuring, monitoring, and enhancing lighting efficiency in controlled environments. The project involves several academic partners and research institutes, and the postdoctoral researcher will be working closely with SONY, CNRS, UPOL, and Jülich Institute.
Responsibilities- Design and develop a model-based controller for optimizing light modulation
- Collaborate with the research team to integrate the controller with existing systems
- Conduct experiments and data analysis to validate the controller's performance
- Communicate research findings and results to the team and stakeholders
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical /Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines
- Expertise in control theory and optimization
- Good publication record
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Fluency in English language
- Full-time employment for 1 year + possible extension
- Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities
