Senior Director of Non-Product Related Procurement

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Senior Director of Non-Product Related Procurement to spearhead the global NPR procurement division and enhance the overall performance of Marel.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be tasked with leading and refining our non-product related procurement operations throughout the organization. This role involves crafting and executing strategic procurement plans, guiding a team of dedicated global category managers, strategic buyers, and procurement support specialists, managing supplier partnerships, and ensuring top-tier procurement methodologies. A strategic mindset, robust leadership capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of procurement frameworks are essential for success in this position.

Key Duties:

Strategic Procurement Oversight

Formulate and execute a comprehensive global NPR procurement strategy that aligns with Marel's overarching business goals. Discover and evaluate procurement prospects to enhance value, realize cost reductions, and improve operational efficiencies. Challenge existing norms and adopt an entrepreneurial approach. Serve as a business ally connecting with stakeholders to ensure satisfaction among internal clients. Direct cross-departmental teams to create and implement category strategies for NPR expenditure categories, including but not limited to IT, HR, marketing, MRO/Capex, Facility Management, travel, and professional services.

Supplier Relations Management:

Build and sustain robust relationships with key suppliers to guarantee quality, dependability, and cost efficiency. Negotiate agreements, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure optimal results for Marel. Assess supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and service level expectations. Propel Marel's sustainability initiatives in collaboration with suppliers.

Process Optimization:

Consistently assess, critique, and enhance NPR procurement processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness. Create a digital roadmap for NPR in partnership with relevant departments. Apply best practices in procurement, including strategic sourcing, e-procurement tools, and supplier relationship management. Ensure adherence to corporate procurement policies and protocols.

Team Development:

Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing procurement team. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and innovation within the procurement sector.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred. At least 10 years of procurement experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity. Proven success in developing and implementing effective procurement strategies while engaging teams and stakeholders. Strong negotiation, communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills. Ability to cultivate a network and operate effectively within a global, matrixed organization. Cultural sensitivity and change management expertise Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in procurement software and tools Experience in the food processing or manufacturing sector within a multinational corporation is advantageous.
