Job Title: Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our engineering team at GoodHabitz. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale distributed backend services using TypeScript/NodeJS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable backend services using TypeScript/NodeJS
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, reliable, and scalable microservices
  • Be the quality guardian of the backend services by promoting best practices, addressing potential pitfalls, and using common design patterns for microservices
  • Work on API design following industry best practices, ensuring high-performance and low-latency systems
  • Write, maintain, and enhance automated tests to ensure quality in all development phases
  • Collaborate on the implementation of observability tools to monitor and maintain the health of backend services
  • Ensure backend systems are scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant in a cloud environment
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/NodeJS and preferably C#
  • Some frontend knowledge (Vue/React) is deeply appreciated
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture and the common patterns used in distributed systems
  • Experience in API design and best practices for building secure, performant, and maintainable APIs
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Familiarity with NestJS Framework
  • Experience with monitoring tools (observability) to ensure backend service health
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, GitLab and AWS for managing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
