Our Specialty Materials Business Group is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance thermoplastic materials, offering both semi-finished products and finished components. Position Summary:
The role encompasses a focus on operations (80%) and development (20%) at the site, ensuring that product delivery aligns with our quality standards and agreed timelines, all while maintaining safety and optimizing efficiency. As the Site Manager, you will cultivate an environment that adheres to our Mid Term Plan and complies with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee budgeting and production of plastic products, driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and managing capacity planning.
- Lead Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) initiatives by fostering a culture of safety and ensuring a comprehensive Safety Plan is established.
- Create a high-quality work environment, collaborating with the Quality Manager on quality planning and execution.
- Ensure adherence to established quality, accuracy, and performance standards, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Evaluate employee performance and efficiency, approving hiring, terminations, transfers, and promotions, while working with operations and HR management to develop ongoing training programs.
- Manage personnel to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop new products aimed at generating additional business opportunities.
- Supervise the planning department to enhance manufacturing process efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain performance metrics for manufacturing operations.
- Support infrastructural needs and ensure coordination among relevant parties on site.
- Create an organizational structure that provides the team with clear insights into tasks and programs necessary to achieve our objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations, preferably in the plastics or chemical industry.
- Proven expertise in Safety, Stable Operations, Continuous Improvement, and Project Management.
- Strong focus on standard setting, coaching, and organizational skills to enhance team performance in all facets of plant operations.
- Effective leadership skills, with a focus on critical success factors, KPIs, and data-driven decision-making.
- Proficient in change management, negotiation, and communication.
- Hands-on approach with a team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch (native) and English.
