About the Opportunity:The Radio Systems group at the University of Twente is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to the development of future 6G networks. This position is part of a larger research program focused on intelligent components, funded by the Dutch national growth fund for Future Network Services.
Research Focus:The selected PhD candidate will focus on developing novel dual-scenario beamforming concepts for joint communication and sensing (JCAS) in future 6G networks. This involves exploring beamforming technology that facilitates effective duplexing techniques, such as full-duplex or sub-band full-duplex, and implementing system-wide spatial and frequency distributed filtering concepts to achieve high Tx-Rx isolation.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop novel beamforming concepts for JCAS in future 6G networks
- Implement system-wide spatial and frequency distributed filtering concepts
- Explore beamforming technology for effective duplexing techniques
- Contribute to the development of future 6G networks
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or near completion
- Technical expertise in wireless communications and/or radar sensing
- Experience with software defined radio (SDR) and hardware prototyping is advantageous
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in diverse, international settings
- 4-year full-time PhD position with a qualifying year
