As a Team Lead Software Engineering, you'll be at the forefront of our Hardware stream, driving the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our In-Person Payments hardware solutions.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for building, mentoring, and coaching a diverse and talented team. Your expertise in Android (Kotlin) development will be invaluable as you work cross-functionally with design, product, data engineers, and other key stakeholders within Payments. You'll help Adyen transition to a new generation of Android payment terminals, collaborate with different teams to design and implement new features, and set clear individual and team goals that align with our strategic engineering ambitions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development of our In-Person Payments hardware solutions, ensuring seamless integration with the Adyen platform.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set strategic direction, including product roadmaps.
  • Motivate team members and provide coaching in areas such as engineering best practices, scalable architecture design, and product roadmap discussions.
  • Maintain an inclusive team culture focused on autonomy, ownership, collaboration, communication, and impact.
  • Recruit new team members in line with the Adyen culture and required skills.

Who You Are

  • An energetic self-starter with experience in creating alignment between multiple teams.
  • Proven expertise in Android (Kotlin) development and coaching engineering talent.
  • Excellent communicator and team player with strong management skills and technical aptitude.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in managing engineering teams within an Android environment.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development industry in a fast-paced tech environment.
