Position Overview
As a Senior Project Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the environmental permit team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a small team of Project Engineers while coordinating with a broader team.
- Overseeing and facilitating the work of third-party contractors.
- Engaging in the review and assembly of extensive and intricate documentation.
- Conducting review sessions with legal, technical, and environmental teams.
- Monitoring and resolving open issues and inquiries.
- Demonstrating experience with large and detailed documents is essential.
- While not mandatory, experience in environmental or legal matters would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word is beneficial.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree and chartered status or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in an engineering role within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
- A seasoned and knowledgeable engineer.
- Work will primarily be conducted in a contractor's office, with occasional travel required.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing abilities.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- A highly motivated and results-driven mindset.
- Capability to effectively interface with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally, across diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Adept at identifying and prioritizing issues, solving problems through collaboration with team members or external resources.
- Innovative thinking with a focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities and challenging existing practices.
- A solid understanding of business drivers and the ability to align design philosophies accordingly.
- Broad estimating skills and practical knowledge of costs (capital, operating, life cycle).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
