Role Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be an integral part of the New Products Development team, significantly contributing to the prototyping, testing, and implementation of new products and services within our Mobile Robotics division. This position offers the unique opportunity to engage in innovative projects while benefiting from the resources and stability of a well-established organization.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop system-level architecture and facilitate the construction of Mobile Robot products and accessories, providing practical solutions and engaging in hands-on work as needed.
  • Translate high-level, incomplete requirements into comprehensive designs for systems or subsystems of moderate complexity, executing tasks with a degree of independence and teamwork.
  • Take ownership of your outcomes, working autonomously while recognizing when to seek guidance.
  • Conduct proof of concepts (POCs) to streamline new developments before production.
  • Partner closely with Mechanical and Manufacturing teams to assemble and evaluate initial units.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in testing, documentation, and revisions of products.
  • Prepare for and participate in design review sessions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional growth by expanding your skills and responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and compare internal and external technologies to inform product and business strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and apply innovative thinking to enhance project outcomes.
  • Exhibit strong technical judgment, creativity, and initiative throughout your work, maintaining a holistic view of the system.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field with an electrical focus.
  • Practical experience in the electrical engineering process, including concept development, analysis, design, assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of complex systems.
  • Proficiency in using standard electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with various data communication protocols, including Ethernet, USB, and CAN.
  • Skilled in advanced CAD, simulation, and analysis software such as SolidWorks and MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with revision control and production practices.
  • Experience in developing DC electrical systems for mobile equipment, including battery and motor controller selection.
  • Knowledge of functional safety design and regulatory standards.
  • Experience in cable harness design and routing.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in PCB design.
  • Background in controls engineering, including control loop implementation.
  • Ability to enhance electrical engineering processes.
