The RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our product development team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for leading the design and development of our products, leveraging your expertise in mechanical engineering to drive innovation and optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Drive conceptualization and innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute innovative ideas for enhancing product performance and functionality.
- Utilize advanced 3D modeling tools to create detailed mechanical designs and conduct simulations and analyses to validate designs for performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee prototyping, rigorous testing, and collaboration with testing and quality assurance teams to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with specified requirements and standards.
- Collaborate and communicate design concepts across teams and stakeholders while integrating mechanical components seamlessly into the overall product architecture.
- Optimize design for cost-effective production by collaborating closely with manufacturing teams and providing support throughout the manufacturing process to address any design-related issues.
- Create detailed design documentation, including drawings and specifications, while ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is a plus.
- Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in mechanical design, with a focus on complex systems and components.
- Demonstrated ability to design machines, with experience in CFD simulations for gas flows and heat transfer.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Experienced in Design for Manufacturing & Assembly cycles.
- Nice-to-have: experience with industrial vacuum systems and familiarity with the challenges and considerations associated with the design of vacuum-based machinery.
- Nice-to-have: experience with heat exchangers and heat pumps.
