About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Software Consultant to join our team at the Software Improvement Group. As a Technical Software Consultant, you will play a key role in advising technology leaders on how to improve the quality, reduce risks, and control costs of their business-critical software systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical interviews with lead architects and lead developers to understand code, documentation, and the system's architecture.
  • Analyse the system and collect findings that pose possible risks to the client's business plans.
  • Present and validate the results with the lead architects and lead developers.
  • Formulate recommendations to the client with your project team, backed by the findings you collected.

Requirements

  • A completed Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture.
  • Excellent command of the English and Dutch language, verbally and written.
  • Analytical and creative problem solver.
  • Able to distill a wide variety of findings into a key message.
  • Driven to give advice that will be listened to and acted upon.
  • A convincing sparring partner for architects and IT management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a motivated team player.
  • Previous experience as a consultant is a plus.
