Job Description

Overview

Erasmus MC is seeking a highly skilled PhD candidate to join our team in optimizing the utilization of operating room (OR) resources. This position is part of the Sustainable Health Program 'Smart OR2030', which aims to leverage technological advancements to improve the sustainability of surgical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with OR staff and technicians to identify facilitators and barriers for the implementation of digital tools and AI-driven scheduling.
  • Develop implementation strategies for digital tools and AI-driven OR scheduling.
  • Evaluate the implementation, process, and clinical outcomes.
  • Scale up the use of digital tools and AI-based scheduling in the OR.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in health care management, HRM, (organizational) psychology, organizational behavior, organizational science, or a related field.
  • Good command of the Dutch and/or English language.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

Working Environment

This position is located at the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM), which is part of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. ESHPM is a multidisciplinary faculty with a strong presence in health technology assessment, health economics, health services & health systems research, healthcare governance, and health insurance.
