Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality research that meets international standards, focusing on impactful publications and societal contributions.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to early-career colleagues and students.
- Lead the OCTS or ONS cluster while contributing to the management of the ORG department and the Faculty of Social Sciences.
- Supervise PhD candidates and participate in the Graduate School of Social Sciences.
- Secure external funding through grant applications for research and valorization initiatives.
- Deliver instruction in the ORG programs, including leading Executive Education offerings.
- Enhance the academic reputation of the department through international research collaborations, keynote presentations, and editorial contributions to leading academic journals.

Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- A PhD in Social Sciences, with a strong foundation in Organization Studies, particularly in relation to organizational change and societal transitions.
- Proven experience as a servant leader in complex academic settings, showcasing strong social, organizational, and management skills in both teaching and research.
- A compelling research vision and a well-established reputation within the international Organization Studies community, demonstrated through active engagement in global networks and projects.
- A robust publication record and a portfolio of research projects relevant to societal change and organizational processes.
- Demonstrated leadership in research, including establishing and guiding research groups and mentoring early-career researchers.
- A commitment to fostering societal impact and engaging with diverse community stakeholders.
- A successful track record in securing national and international research funding.
- Experience in recruiting and supervising PhD students, with an emphasis on collaborative supervision.
- A vision for innovative teaching methodologies and excellence in course design and delivery across various educational levels, particularly in organization theory and change.

What We Offer
A stimulating role within a socially responsible organization. At VU Amsterdam, your contributions to education, research, and community service are highly valued. In return for your dedication, we provide:
- A competitive salary ranging from €6,000 to €9,000 gross per month, based on the UFO profile of Professor 2, with the exact amount determined by your qualifications and experience.
- A contract for 0.8-1 FTE, initially for 18 months, with the possibility of a permanent position thereafter.
Additional benefits include:
- A full-time workweek of 38 hours, entitling you to a generous holiday leave allowance. For those working 40 hours, an additional 96 holiday hours are available annually, calculated pro rata for part-time employees.
- 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
