We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team at the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI). As a research data scientist, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven innovation in weather, climate, and seismology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Develop and implement data-driven models and proof of concepts using AI/ML methods and big data.">
  • Advise and collaborate on data science initiatives with research projects, providing expertise in data science techniques and novel data sources.">
  • Engage in knowledge sharing and continuous learning by presenting findings and tools through various mediums, staying up-to-date with new AI/ML technologies.">

About You:

">

You should have a PhD in AI/ML, computer science, applied mathematics, or a relevant field, along with at least 2 years of applied research experience in Machine Learning, processing, and visualization. Strong programming skills, including data analytics languages like Python, R, and Matlab, as well as hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks like Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, and PyTorch, are essential. Good communication skills and experience in consulting clients/customers from different domains and disciplines are also required.
