**Job Title:** Supply Chain Management Professional

**Job Description:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join our team at The Sherwin-Williams Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure raw materials and services at the lowest total cost while adhering to division, corporate, and local plant directives.
  • Implement and control procurement processes for raw materials, packaging labels, and supply items to ensure timely delivery and uninterrupted production flow.
  • Develop and manage raw material forecasts, place purchase orders, and schedule deliveries to meet demand at our Automotive manufacturing sites.
  • Maintain responsiveness to production requirements and obtain the best possible quality by purchasing strategically.
  • Approve raw materials and some finished goods purchase orders as needed.
  • Issue or control purchase orders for all raw materials, plant supplies, and purchased finished goods at the plant, including confirmation of orders.
  • Process vendor returns and maintain accurate vendor files related to Purchase Orders and requisitions at the site.
  • Monitor vendor performance data and sub-standard products to initiate corrective action.
  • Dispose and control obsolete and surplus materials in collaboration with R&D, Warehouse, Planning, and QC.
  • Create and maintain forecasts for raw material and packaging materials.
  • Assist Accounts Payable with invoices requiring assistance, such as incorrect prices or quantities.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a procurement/buying role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Providing professional supply chain activities; developing and analyzing reports; complying with department policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in PC skills and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other required applications.
  • Effective communication with coworkers and suppliers to provide and receive direction.
  • Knowledge of at least one ERP system.
  • Assertiveness and ability to work under stressful situations.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around $85,000 per year, based on the market and location. After minimum one year in this role, you can apply for any internal job opportunity while informing your manager.
