Our Multi e-Beam Inspection systems are integral to ASML's comprehensive lithography solutions. Located in Delft, our Electron Optical competence center boasts multidisciplinary teams that merge Research with Development & Engineering, delivering innovative modules and system designs for our Multi e-Beam Inspection offerings.
We seek a seasoned physicist with a robust background in integrated photonics to contribute to our teams dedicated to the design and simulation of electron optical modules. You will initiate projects with minimal requirements or a broad conceptual framework, enabling your team to provide solutions that guide system engineering in determining the next generation of tools or assisting other engineers in finalizing their detailed designs. The manufacturability and field applicability of your designs are critical factors to consider, as they will be implemented in a production setting.
Key Responsibilities
At ASML-Delft, our focus is on developing electron-optical inspection instruments. The competitive nature of this market necessitates rapid iterations and superior quality. In this dynamic environment, your responsibilities will include:
Serving as a technical leader, motivating and guiding fellow engineers in their technological decisions. Collaborating with project leaders, function owners, and architects on technical matters. Engaging in integrated optics initiatives to assess the potential of this technology for future multi-beam inspection systems, taking charge of the specification, design, and modeling of these devices. Communicating with suppliers regarding the production of photonic integrated circuits. Assessing the performance of these devices in experimental settings. Functioning as a cooperative team member within cross-functional groups. Producing high-quality documentation.Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess an MSc or PhD in integrated optics.
Required Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in designing integrated optics components, ideally with experience in Ansys Lumerical, RSoft Photonic Device Tools, or comparable design software. Familiarity with photonics manufacturing processes. Experience in the measurement and characterization of photonic integrated circuits is advantageous. Exceptional skills in technical writing, communication, and presentation.Desired Skills

The Development & Engineering (D&E) sector at ASML is accountable for the specification, design, and realization of all products within the ASML portfolio, with a dedicated department in Delft.
Within the D&E sector, our department specializes in functions, modules, technical competencies, and qualification tools for inspection equipment, particularly multi-beam electron microscopes.
