About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Buyer direct materials. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials and packaging for our confectionery products.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct market research and inquiries to identify potential suppliers
  • Handle the supplier qualification process, including data, documentation, and system-related topics
  • Manage the sourcing and purchasing relationship with relevant stakeholders, including SC/R&D/Operations/Finance
  • Manage material master data, contracts, and contract prices in our SAP system
  • Optimize costs, inventories, and ensure the correct availability of materials for our factories
  • Support the activities related to your categories at a local level
  • Execute RFPs and finalize negotiations
  • Analyze supplier performance information, including scorecards, SLAs, and KPIs, to drive continuous improvements and leverage decision-making
  • Provide detailed supplier knowledge, market data, and financial performance to help increase Perfetti Van Melle's competitive advantage
  • Identify opportunities for cost reductions, efficiency/quality improvements, risk mitigation, industry and supply trends, and shifts in technology
  • Monitor supplier and market trends and their impact on future operations and draw conclusions to provide insight into key developments that could impact Perfetti Van Melle
  • Act with integrity by maintaining compliance with internal policies, procedures, and all regulatory and governmental regulations and laws

Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Economics
  • Certified for NEVI I
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in Procurement, preferably in Fast Moving Consumer Goods and experience with the direct (RM/PM) category
  • Strong project management skills
  • Pragmatic and action-oriented, with the ability to translate business needs into solutions
  • Ability to work under pressure, think quickly, and show initiative in solving problems
  • Results-oriented and excellent analytical skills
  • Fluent English and Dutch, orally and in writing
