Job Overview

Space Applications Services is seeking a skilled Payload System Engineer to join our team in the International Commercial Experiment (ICE) Cubes Service. This position is part of the Strategic Business Unit Department, International Commercial Experiment Cubes Service (ICE Cubes) Strategic Business Unit. The successful candidate will mainly report to the ICE Cubes Business Unit Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Engineering: Participate in the system engineering of payload infrastructures/facilities directly developed in the frame of the ICE Cubes Service, including requirements engineering and verification, system design and interface control, and COTS subsystem selection, procurement and qualification.
  • Safety Assessment: Assess safety aspects in the human spaceflight environment.
  • Payload Development: Support the development and certification of payloads for the platforms served by the ICE Cubes Service, including assembly, integration, validation and testing.
  • Technical Framework: Establish the technical framework (documentation, processes, etc.) related to the extension of the ICE Cubes service to new platforms.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, customers and platforms organisations.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in space systems, mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering, or similar.
  • Experience: Good knowledge of the ISS environment for payloads, ISS boundary conditions and Product Assurance & Safety (PA&S) procedures, experience with full development cycle, and excellent written and spoken English.
