Applications are invited for the position of Communications Executive (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre.

The successful candidate will oversee a range of communication, marketing, and external relations initiatives for the Centre. Key responsibilities include:


• Developing and executing comprehensive communication and marketing plans to enhance the Centre's profile and activities;

• Creating and designing promotional materials, which encompass website management, social media platforms, brochures, flyers, and newsletters;

• Organizing and promoting the Centre's events, such as conferences, seminars, and workshops;

• Identifying and facilitating external engagement opportunities, including outreach and Knowledge Exchange initiatives, to elevate the Centre's visibility while analyzing metrics to refine branding strategies;

• Cultivating a vibrant alumni community through enhanced engagement efforts and maintaining an updated alumni database to ensure accurate contact records; and

• Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned by the Centre.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a communications or marketing capacity, ideally within a journalism or media context. Proficiency in English writing, editing, and verbal communication is essential, with written Chinese skills considered advantageous. A strong grasp of social media and digital marketing is required, alongside high IT proficiency, including familiarity with website content management and graphic design tools such as Wordpress, Mailchimp, Canvas, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills are crucial.

The position will be offered on a fixed-term full-time contract for two years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance. A competitive salary will be provided, commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with annual leave and medical benefits. Fixed-term appointments will also include a contract-end gratuity and contributions to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of the basic salary. Additional benefits encompass annual leave and medical coverage.
