About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead our Back Office Engineering team at Coolblue. As a key member of our Software Engineering Board, you will be responsible for defining the most suitable Back Office Engineering architecture and ensuring its successful implementation in our daily software releases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Back Office Engineering vision aligned with Coolblue's business objectives.
  • Initiate, organize, and supervise the implementation of strategic software engineering projects to achieve the Engineering vision.
  • Explore new technologies, partnerships, languages, or opportunities to enable scalability, increase speed of delivery, or reduce maintenance costs.
  • Advise and lead the way for Principal Developers, Development teams, Product Owners, Domain Bosses, Head of Development Roadmaps, and CEO.
  • Challenge development roadmaps and guiding buy vs build decisions to ensure the right tool is used for the right job and we build software in an effective way.
  • Hire Principal Developers based on your formation plan, allocate them to assignments, challenge them on their architectural choices, and provide input for their yearly assessment.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree.
  • Several years of experience in Enterprise architecture.
  • More than 10 years of work experience in Back Office Agile Software Development.
  • Technical expertise and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Loads of autonomous drive and ownership, project management skills, and problem-solving skills.
