Operations Manager

The Front Line Manager Operations is a key role in the production process and part of the logistic process, leading a team of operators to contribute to business success through the implementation and monitoring of processing or packaging plans within performance requirements.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and control all activities on shift to ensure the efficient operation of the shift to meet the production plan with the right quality product at the right time. Ensure continuous improvement within area of responsibility while leading and developing employees.
- Operate as part of a site team of FLM's, responsible for running the shift as the sole Line Manager in the PC department.
- Set standards by organizing shift running from production schedules (manning, materials, changeovers etc.).
- Ensure the optimum utilization of shift labour by effective labour planning and training and development of employees.
- Build and maintain an operationally focused culture on shift.
- Monitor line efficiencies ensuring targets are met and improved on.
- Responsibility for all elements of employee Health, Safety and Welfare. Manage a balanced scorecard in the following areas: Quality, Cost, Materials, People, and Service.
Accountabilities
Responsible for targets on personal safety, food safety, food quality, efficiency, and service. Responsible for team people processes and procedures (talent development, employee relations, and managing absenteeism). Managing and executing Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Investment projects.
Requirements
Postgraduate degree or equivalent work experience. Experience of working within a food/beverage manufacturing or FMCG environment. Preferred: Management and leadership experience, with a proven management style focused on coaching and mentoring and direct behavioral management. You're a productive communicator, tolerant with people and processes, and able to cope effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You have a passion for lean manufacturing processes and an understanding of continuous improvement.
