At Picnic, we're revolutionizing the way people buy groceries with our innovative and sustainable app-only service. We're looking for a talented Category Manager to join our diverse team in Amsterdam and drive commercial success in our scale-up environment.
About the RoleAs a Category Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and executing a commercial strategy for your product category. This includes building strong relationships with suppliers, analyzing market trends, and identifying opportunities to improve product quality and profitability.
You'll work closely with our data analytics team to draw insights from our state-of-the-art data warehouses and translate them into commercial actions. Your ability to work alongside analysts and drive business decisions will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a commercial strategy for your product category
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities to improve product quality and profitability
- Work closely with data analytics team to draw insights from data warehouses
- Drive business decisions and translate insights into commercial actions
- Master's degree with exposure to analytical problem-solving
- 1-4 years of work experience, preferably as (junior) category manager in a commercial and analytical environment
- Commercial drive, a nose for opportunities, and negotiation skills
- Persistence and enthusiasm to drive projects to a successful end result
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- Drive to deal with day-to-day operations and swift problem-solving skills
- A genuine passion for food and/or consumer products
- Fluent in Dutch and English
