Software Engineering Expert

Are you a software engineering expert looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Software Engineer to join our team at Wolters Kluwer.

In this role, you will be responsible for writing, testing, delivering, and supporting a working multi-tenant global system for API publishing. As a member of our development team, you will help ensure the smooth functioning of the team in terms of software solution delivery, quality, and support.

You will primarily focus on backend service development, but will also contribute to smaller frontend tasks. Your responsibilities will include designing decisions, estimation, implementation, and delivery of the system.

The position is based in the Netherlands (Alphen aan den Rijn) and the team is distributed across the Netherlands, East Europe (Poland, Hungary), and India (Pune). We are looking for someone with a mindset to develop in the full vertical, and if experience is missing, the willingness to acquire the knowledge.

The project's architecture includes:

• A frontend portal for discovery and self-service management for several roles in the API product publishing landscape (Javascript/Typescript/Angular)
• A 'control plane' with several micro-services to serve the front-end and data plane needs (Java/My SQL/Javascript/Typescript)
• Several 'data planes' with gateways and adapters that front-end WK APIs (Envoy/Lua/Java/Kubernetes/Redis)

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing new features in the backend micro-services in Java
• Maintaining existing code across several micro-services when bugs or improvements are needed
• Updating client changes in Type Script
• Taking ownership of the functional quality of your features by writing several levels of testing
• Understanding and maintaining your component's deployment descriptors
• Documenting your designs by elaborating on alternative approaches

We offer a competitive salary range of €90,000 - €120,000 per year, depending on experience.
