Job Description

As a Data Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, build, and maintenance of the data infrastructure that supports our business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires a strong strategic and hands-on approach to data engineering, with the ability to lead a team of data engineers and translate technical requirements into workable data solutions that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather valuable input and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design and implement data architectures, pipelines, and storage solutions, engaging in hands-on coding, code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices in data engineering.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and providing growth opportunities for the team.
  • Define project requirements and work with various departments to monitor the progress of data-related projects and participate in testing.
  • Advise BI and data colleagues on data modeling and reporting, aligning goals and best practices with data users, producers, and consumers.

Requirements

  • IT education, preferably at the bachelor's or master's level.
  • A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in data management or business analysis.
  • Expertise in data engineering, including database design, ETL processes, and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala. Experience with cloud data technologies is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in both Dutch and English.
