Job Description

As a Senior Data Infrastructure Manager, you will lead a team of data engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making processes.

You will work closely with various departments to translate technical requirements into practical data solutions that align with business objectives. This role is ideal for someone with both strategic and hands-on experience in data engineering who enjoys leading teams and turning technology into tangible business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain relationships with internal teams (sales, operations) and external stakeholders (customers) to gather valuable input and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the data engineering team and other departments, ensuring data solutions align with business goals.
  • Design and implement data architectures, pipelines, and storage solutions, engaging in hands-on coding, code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices in data engineering.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and providing growth opportunities for the team.
  • Define project requirements and work with various departments to monitor the progress of data-related projects and participate in testing.

  • Manage complex aspects of information management and analytics.
  • Stay updated on rapid developments in data technology.
  • Navigate different opinions and ensure alignment within the team and organization.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • An IT education, preferably at the bachelor's or master's level.
  • A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in data management or business analysis.
  • Expertise in data engineering, including database design, ETL processes, and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala. Experience with cloud data technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
  • Self-directed, flexible, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in both Dutch and English.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position (32-40 hours per week), and you can expect a salary indication of €42,000 - €55,000, depending on experience and skills. You will report directly to the IT Director and collaborate closely with the BI team, Sales, Operations, and IT departments.
