Researcher in AI and Data Management for Retail

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as a Postdoctoral Researcher in AI and Data Management for Retail. The successful candidate will work on the forefront of AI and/or data management research inspired by retail settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent research in AI, resulting in academic publications in peer-reviewed conferences and journals;
  • Collaborate with other researchers and become an active member of the research community;
  • Supervise Bachelor and Master theses and tutor students;
  • Coordinate and work with partners at Ahold-Delhaize.

Requirements:

  • PhD in artificial intelligence or computer science;
  • Committed researcher, demonstrated by publications in international refereed academic journals and conferences in particular in information retrieval, recommender systems, artificial intelligence or data management;
  • Experience in supporting tasks and the willingness to take responsibility for administrative tasks;
  • Professional command of English.

What We Offer:

  • A temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week for a period of 12 months;
  • The preferred starting date is as soon as possible;
  • The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between € 3, to € 5, (scale 10);
  • UvA additionally offers an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
  • The UFO profile Researcher 4 is applicable;
  • A favourable tax agreement, the '30% ruling', may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
