We are looking for an experienced Market Risk Professional to join our team at ING. As a key member of our Market Risk Management team, you will play a crucial role in managing our balance sheet and ensuring the stability of our Net Interest Income.



Your main responsibilities will include:




  • Managing approximately EUR 150-180 billion of assets and liabilities, contributing to around one-third of our overall ING P&L.
  • Performing hedging activities to realize a stable margin and Net Interest Income for ING.
  • Monitoring and modeling client behavior to spot emerging trends using big data analytics.
  • Providing advice to our business tribes on pricing and product decisions, requiring in-depth knowledge of our product offerings.
  • Maintaining close relationships with various stakeholders, including CRO NL divisions, Finance, the Business Tribes, Group Financial Risk, Model Validation, Group Treasury, ECB, DNB, and external auditors.
  • Participating in the migration of ING NL to QRM for the monthly hedging process and the migration of our mortgages administration to STATER.


To succeed in this role, you will require:




  • An academic degree (MSc or PhD) in Econometrics or other quantitative studies, such as Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics.
  • Completed additional professional qualifications in financial risk management, such as CFA, FRM, or the willingness to do so.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the financial sector, preferably in banking, insurance, or consulting.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial risk management, relevant regulations, modeling, and hedging techniques.
  • Experience in being a sparring partner/advisor to Senior Management.
  • Experience with SQL and coding (Python, R) is an advantage, as well as experience with QRM and/or other ALM systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Interest in financial services, an innovative approach to banking, and a drive to turn your ideas into reality.
  • The ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Great team player skills.
