Chief Stewarding Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Stewarding to join our team at Corendon Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Hotel. As a key member of our hotel's operations, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the Stewarding Department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of stewards to achieve high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety
  • Manage and maintain all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas
  • Work closely with the kitchen and food & beverage teams to ensure smooth operation and availability of necessary equipment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Chief Steward or similar role in a hotel, resort, or restaurant environment
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, sanitation practices, and health & safety regulations
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO, and other relevant food safety standards
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and reporting
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed
